Roman Cochet is the founder of Cat & Lobster programs.
Father of a 5 month old, he is an artist born in Paris. With a Master of Fine Arts degree from Hunter College in New York City, a BFA from Central Saint Martins in London, and an art education from Beaux art de Paris, Cochet's art career includes solo exhibitions at esteemed venues like Alexander and Bonin gallery in New York, The French Institute of New York, Galerie Ivan Ptakhine in Paris and multiple group shows in England, France and the USA.
Roman Cochet started teaching seven years ago, when he wanted to share all his painting and drawing skills acquired throughout his education his younger brother, Malo Cochet. Since then, Roman has taught art professionally in schools in New York and Paris, fostering creativity in students from different ages. Additionally, he provides private instruction to friends and family, sharing his passion for art in private settings. Roman's dedication to teaching reflects his commitment to nurturing creativity and inspiring artistic growth in others.
Cochet's knowledge of the art world extends beyond his personal exhibitions. As a preparator at Gladstone Gallery and Clearing Gallery, he collaborated with renowned artists such as Elizabeth Peyton, Richard Prince, Sarah Lucas, Matthew Barney, Ugo Rondinone, Calvin Marcus, Huma Bhabha, and others. Additionally, Cochet's role as a studio assistant for artists like Camille Henrot, Harold Ancart, Avery Singer and Korakrit Arunanundchai underscores his versatility and proficiency in different creative skills. From various painting techniques to sculpture fabrication processes, Roman Cochet aims to share his wide range of knowledge with others.
